Situated on a small hill, the small neighbourhood of Putxet has only 30,000 inhabitants. Originally separate from the city, Putxet was for many years a regular summer resort for some of the Catalan upper middle classes. It was not until the arrival of trams and buses that it became a residential area. This is why it is now one of the neighbourhoods with the most detached houses and villas, many in the Catalan modernist style, such as those on Mulet and Puig-reig streets
Today, Putxet has its own railway station and several bus lines. Its proximity to the Sant Gervasi-Galvany neighbourhood means that a multitude of services is just a few minutes away.
